T-Shirt Sale!

In other news, three of my T-shirt sites are having a really exciting sale this week – the sites are the Retropolis Transit Authority, Saga Shirts, and Hot Wax Tees.

Through Friday, April 17, you can get some great discounts on orders: $5 off a $25 order, $15 off a $50 order, and $35 off a $100 order (before shipping charges or any applicable tax).

So even though math makes my brain hurt, I can see that a $25 order gets 20% off and a $100 order gets 35% off. Nice! That last one is more-or-less a free shirt if you pay for three. The sites use the same checkout, too, so you can mix and match.

…and it might have offset the ridiculous charges levied before I could get my hands on them.
I have just collected the shirts and the VAT charge of £5.79 ($8.57) was hard enough to swallow but the Post Office “Handling Fee” of £8.00 ($11.84) was crazy.
Love your designs but with duty/tax/handling fees like these I think they will be my last…

Well, I knew about the VAT you pay on imports, but I’d never heard about additional Post Office fees in Britain. New one on me. I guess if the company who ships the shirts was willing to label them as gifts rather than as merchandise, you’d get around the VAT – but I can understand why they’d rather not lie to sovereign nations.

Your country has at various times taxed the number of windows in a house, and the number of wheels on a car, and possibly even that car’s horsepower. I think. I’m a little fuzzy on that one. I could encourage you to overthrow your government – it worked for us, over here – but given our recent history I’m not sure that’d look like the best way out. I remain pleased that you like the shirts, anyway :).

Yes we did once have windows taxed! Just waiting for the air we breathe to have a tax levied on it!
I think the current government are doing a pretty good job in ‘overthrowing’ themselves …
