That&#8217;s the show where we find out what exciting new models are about to pour off the production lines at one of the city&#8217;s most famous factories.<\/p>\n<p>And what a show it is! In recent years visitors went agog over the introduction of the Pulsating Phaeton, the Auburn Beauty Six, and the Morgan Plus Forty-Eight.<\/p>\n<p>And even in those years when we haven&#8217;t seen a major model launched the Rocket Works has always shown us fantastic advancements and new features for their existing lines, offering what Brooks Stevens has called:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;&#8230;something a little newer, a little better, a little sooner than is necessary.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It may be a little sooner than is necessary&#8230; but we can&#8217;t wait to get &#8217;em!<\/p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.webomator.com\/grafx2\/blog\/Hbar_zap.jpg\" width=\"501\" height=\"50\" class=\"img_wide_between\">\n<p>Brooks Stevens&#8217; idea of <em>planned obsolescence<\/em> was a pretty benevolent one, when compared with the reality we&#8217;ve come to know and hate &#8211; the reality in which things are designed to last <em>slightly<\/em> longer than their warranties, I mean. But since we can ignore The Present We Really Have for the moment, let&#8217;s enjoy the gradual and steady improvement of things in The Future That Never Was.<\/p>\n<p>And the <em>point<\/em> of that enjoyment, once again, is a new version of a Retropolis Transit Authority staple: the <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.webomator.com\/retropolis\/retropolis-transit-authority.php?category=Retropolis T-Shirts&#038;start=109&#038;per_page=9&#038;type_filter=all\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Retropolis Rocket Works t-shirt<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.webomator.com\/retropolis\/retropolis_z\/retropolis_travel_posters.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">poster<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.webomator.com\/retropolis\/retropolis_z\/retropolis_travel_coffee_mugs.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">coffee mug<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.webomator.com\/retropolis\/retropolis_z\/retropolis_travel_mousepads.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mousepad<\/a>.<\/p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/shop.webomator.com\/retropolis\/retropolis_z\/retropolis_travel_business_cards.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.webomator.com\/grafx3\/blog\/retropolis_author_card.jpg\" alt=\"Retropolis Author Business Card\" width=\"501\" height=\"261\" class=\"img_wide_between\" style=\"margin-top:24px;\"><\/a>\n<p>And although I published them with less than a whisper, there are also thirteen (<em>count &#8217;em, thirteen!<\/em>) new <a href=\"http:\/\/shop.webomator.com\/retropolis\/retropolis_z\/retropolis_travel_business_cards.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">business card<\/a> designs at Retropolis, too.
