Affiliate Program

Here's how you can take 15% of my income - and I'm not man enough to stop you!

If you've linked directly to this page you may want to go here for general information. If you have affiliated my shops before the affiliate program switched to Commission Junction, you will need to revise your links!

The first step is to start an affiliate account at Commission Junction by signing up.

Affiliate Program

Celtic Art & Retro-Futuristic Design
Celtic Art Books (offsite)
Non-Conformists Union, Local 404
the Retrovert
Woodworking Gifts
(offsite)

Once you've created a CJ account, then through your account pages you can apply to the Cafepress Affiliate Program. Do this in your CJ account pages, where they let you search for an "Advertiser". When you apply to the Cafepress program you'll be asked for your website information, which you'll have added in your CJ account.
Make sure that you read the Terms of Service, which outline what you are and are not permitted to do in order to market these sites and products.

Your web site will have an affiliate account number. It's called a "PID". (You'll find it in your CJ account pages under the "Web Site Settings" tab.)
You will use this number when adding links tomy shops from your own web pages.
Follow the instructions listed in the menu at right in order to successfully link to my sites and products, and make 15% of the retail price of merchandise that's sold through your links.

There are descriptions for each of my stores, and I'm including banners in a couple of configurations which you can use to promote my art and merchandise.

Celtic Art & Retro-Futuristic Design (view the site)   (Just get some banners)

This is far and away my most popular shop, and despite its split personality - or because of it - the site can be marketed toward several types of people. The Celtic Art side of the store converts well for traffic searching for celtic art, pagan art, fantasy art, and related topics; the retro-science fiction world of Retropolis features popular terms like "Retro Robots", "Retro Rockets" and so on. The two sides together appeal to fans of fantasy and science fiction - but don't ignore the nostalgians, either.

To link to the entire shop, use the following link, substituting your Commission Junction Affiliate PID number for the "YOUR_CJ_PID". This is your web site PID, not your account number.

http://shop.webomator.com/cgi-bin/cpshop.cgi?cjpid=YOUR_CJ_PID

So if your PID number were 1234, for example, you would use this link:

http://shop.webomator.com/cgi-bin/cpshop.cgi?cjpid=1234

This link will take a visitor to the front page of the site.

If you want to link to a particular section or product page, just browse to that product page and copy its address from your browser's address bar; then add the ampersand (&) and your PID code to the end. So, for example, in order to link to the product page for my "Sun Horse, Moon Horse" poster, you'd use the link:

http://shop.webomator.com/cgi-bin/cpshop.cgi?i=cp/bws01.4023930&cjpid=YOUR_CJ_PID

...again, replacing the "YOUR_CJ_PID" with your PID number. You can link to a section of the store (like "Celtic Art Posters") in just the same way.

What's different about linking to a product or section is that instead of appending ?cjpid=YOUR_CJ_PID to the address, you append &cjpid=YOUR_CJ_PID
. Remember to test your links!

Archival Prints are not included. That's because the two "Archival Prints" sections offer merchandise from another vendor, and are not eligible for the CafePress Affiliate Program. But don't fret. That's a very small percentage of the hundreds of unique items here.

So now that you know how to construct the links, you can certainly use text links and ads if you like - but you'll probably want to use my banners instead. I've prepared both standard 468 by 60 banners, and 120 pixel wide skyscrapers - these are the size I use for Google Adwords image ads.

I'll continue to add new banners from time to time, so you may want to check back.

The Non-Conformists' Union, Local 404 (view the site)   (Just get some banners)
This shop performs well when promoted for either humor or vintage graphics. All of its apparel, greeting cards, membership items, and other merchandise are eligible for the Affiliate Program.
I'm not sure if I'll ever actually sell a 100 pack of Non-Conformist buttons, but the concept is priceless.

To link to the entire shop, use the following link, substituting your Commission Junction PID number for the "YOUR_CJ_PID". This is your web site PID, not your account number.

The Retrovert (view the site)   (Just get some banners)

The Retrovert's vintage graphics differ from those in many other shops, in that they're digitally restored based on the period originals. The different sections of the site are geared to appeal to niche markets (WPA posters, 1939 New York Worlds' Fair memorabilia, and so on) but you could also have a bit of fun promoting the I Want Roosevelt Again items, in a set of political links.
All of the merchandise at theRetrovert.com is included in the Affiliate Program.
